Jim Dailey

Jim teaches art history and humanities courses at Lakeland Community College. We met when we were both there as adjuncts, and we often had schedules that put us on campus but out of the classroom at the same time, so we got into the habit of getting together in the cafeteria or swinging over to Panera for coffee and conversation. I lived an hour to the west of Lakeland, and Jim was an hour in the other direction, so we didn't get to see much of each other except between classes at school. That was a shame — he's an affable and interesting guy, the sort of person I'd've enjoyed hanging out with more often. Eventually, he applied for and got a full-time position at LCC, and a year later I was hired by the College of Southern Maryland and moved away from Ohio, so nowadays our friendship is conducted exclusively on line.
