Anton Pieck

Pieck is largely unknown outside of the Netherlands, but his illustrations — created at the end of the 19th century — remain extremely popular there today. I admire the intricate detail and (to use a term I've picked up from Michelle) his subdued color palette, both of which are distinctive and instantly recognizable. I haven't yet visited it, but there's apparently an Anton Pieck museum in Holland, and you'll find its website here.
